Alaska Young Adult Institute, August 8-15, 2010
Dear Friends,
I am writing to invite young adults (ages 19-35) to come on a once-in-a-lifetime chance to hike and pray for seven days in the beauty of God in Alaska for only $200 (plus airfare)! Many of you have heard of the Eagle Eye Program the Brothers started in Princeville. This program offers young adults the chance to go as deeply as they can in their Faith by praying, intellectual formation, and true Catholic friendship, and has served hundreds of young adults for the past 5 years.
In 2007, when we took the program to Alaska, we were blown away by the beauty of the place, and the thirst of young adults in Alaska to meet their fellow Catholics from the “lower 48.” With a combo like that, how could we resist?
The Brothers are proposing an ideal combination – a day touring Anchorage, before a 26 mile hike over 3 1/2 days through some of the most amazing countryside in Southern Alaska, culminating in a 3 1/2 day mini-Eagle Eye retreat with four hours of intellectual formation, daily Mass, Adoration, and day hikes to beautiful sites in the region. It is all you could ask for!
To help keep costs down, our professional guide (with over 20 years experience leading groups) will donate all of his time to you. The young adults in Alaska have found an affordable location for the retreat, and we will cook our own food.
Travel costs will be higher the longer we wait to purchase our tickets. Everyone is free to make their own arrangements to get there but I would like to speak with all interested parties BEFORE YOU BUY YOUR TICKET. This is very important to be sure that we are all on the same page. (FYI, we will fly in and out of Anchorage after 4-5 pm on August 7th and after 4 pm on August 15th.)
